Registered unemployment down 4.76 pct in April

Registered unemployment fell by 4.76 pct in April, compared with March 2016, or 42,545 less unemployed, official figures showed on Thursday.
OAED (Workforce Employment Organization) in an announcement said that total registered unemployed people (seeking job) was 851,596 in April, from 894,141 in March. From the 851,596 unemployed people, 443,293 remained in unemployment for more than one year, while 334,128 (39.24 pct) were men and 517,468 (60.76 pct) women.
The number of registered unemployed people not seeking job totaled 141,050 in April, while the number of unemployed people receiving unemployment benefits totaled 125,254 in April, down 2.47 pct from March.
Registered unemployment in the 30-44 age group was 40.15 pct and in the 45-54 age group it was 22.4 pct.
