Fires on Chios, Menidi, Aspropyrgos

A wildfire broke out late on Thursday on Chios amid strong winds.
28 firemen have been dispatched assisted by 15 vehicles, 9 people on foot, 28 volunteers, 5 private tankers, 4 helicopters and 1 aircraft.
Meanwhile, the fire that broke out earlier in Menidi, east Attica region, is under control.
Another fire is burning at Aspropyrgos, western Attica region. According to the statements of the Fire Brigade spokesman to the Athens-News Agency, the fire does not threaten inhabited areas.
70 firemen have been dispatched assisted by 35 vehicles, 26 people on foot, 2 tankers, and 2 helicopters.
