Distance between the government and the IMF on labor issues

Νegotiations between the government and creditors continue today in Athens. Fiscal measures on the agenda of today’s meetings.
There is distance between the government and the IMF, which does not recognize the good European practices on labor issues, government sources said on Sunday.
According to a senior Labor ministry source, Greece insists on the agreement to restore the good European practices on labor issues. while the IMF disagrees. The European Commission has not expressed a specific opinion.
“A compromise in negotiations must be found, as political developments may be triggered by elections in other European countries and the new US Presidency of the US, under Donald Trump”, MP Nikos Filis has stated at our station.
The cabinet meets today to discuss Greece’s growth strategy.
“What Greece needs is a shock of growth,” the country’s deputy prime minister Yannis Dragasakis told the Guardian ahead of a crucial cabinet meeting today. “We will meet to discuss a new growth strategy that will focus solely on boosting investment and reducing unemployment to pre-crisis levels, that is to say 8% in the next 10 years.”
