Greek frigate in naval exercises with US Strike Group

On Sunday 05 March 2017, the frigate KOUNTOURIOTIS participated in exercises with a US aircraft carrier in the Cretan - Myrtoo Sea region.
Specifically, the Greek frigate sailed from the naval base on Crete, and took part in naval exercises (PASSEX) with Carrier Strike Group 2 of the US Navy, in the area of Crete and the Myrtoon Sea.
Beyond the Greek ship the units included aircraft carrier USS GEORGE H. W. BUSH, the cruiser USS PHILIPPINE SEA and a number of organic aircraft and helicopters.
