Bureaucracy drives away "Mamma Mia"
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The notorious bureaucracy that everyone exorcises but still exists, has expelled Mamma Mia from Greece.
At a time when Greece wnts to attract investors, bureaucracy is driving a great production away from the country. The continuation of the popular musical, the first part of which had great economic benefits, since, among other things, made Skopelos a world known and internationally popular destination, is not going to be shot in Greece.
The producers of Mamma Mia decided this time to shoot the film in Croatia, where the processes for a Hollywood production are simpler and therefore more economical ...
Already the producers of the film, starring Meryl Streep and Piers Brosnan, have chosen the island of Viss in Dalmatia and shooting is about to begin immediately.
Although, according to the British Daily Mail, the production company has not made an official announcement, sources say the decision to "move" filming away from a Greek island, as the script says, but to Croatia, was clearly for bureaucratic and economic reasons. In Croatia, the report says, no license is required for every scene, the job is easier and therefore the economic benefits are bigger.
The new film, is expected to be released in cinemas in the summer of 2018, ten years after the premiere of the first, starring Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan, Amanda Seyfried, Colin Firth and Dominic Cooper. British actor Lily James joins the cast and will portray Meryl Streep's character at an early age as the subject of the film (prequel) is about her own adventures in the Greek summer.
