One million euros for the restoration of the Nike of Samothace

The “Tous mécènes!” campaign of the Louvre Museum in Paris was a great success and achieved its goal.
The great conservation project for the Winged Victory (Niki) of Samothrace began in September 2013. The Louvre launched a campaign “Tous mécènes !” (All Donors!) on September 3, day on which the monument was removed from the public eye. The goal was to raise one million euros before the end of the year to help the Museum restore in entirety the monument’s splendour.
And...the goal was achieved! From September 3 to December 31, 2013 the Museum was able to raise one million euros. More than 6.700 persons donated from 1 to 8.500 euros for this noble cause. Most donations were around 50-134 euros, with the Japanese being at the top of the donors list.
