The Greek Navy vessel LST Lesvos L176 was damaged at the Salamis naval station on Tuesday when it crashed into other vessels while trying to dock.
According to reports, the accident occurred at around 8 pm last night when the ship attempted to approach the pier but the strong winds flung it onto two other vessels resulting in the ship crashing against the pier.
The vessel sustained a 2-metre breach on one side. There are no reports of injuries to the Lesvos crew members, but the damage it sustained by will force it to be inactive for weeks until the large lateral breach is repaired.
This is the third minor accident in the Hellenic Navy in recent months.
