SYRIZA MP claims to be taxation terrorism victim
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Well known labor lawyer, and SYRIZA mp Alexis Mitropoulos tendered a question to the finance minister Yannis Stournaras through which he is demanding the return of his accounting ledgers, which he claims the financial crimes squad (SDOE) is withholding illegally.
The deputy, however, artfully conceals the fact that SDOE is looking into his finances after he failed to report taxable income to the tune of one million euros, which is why SDOE are scrutinizing his records.
In any event, it is unique for an mp to use parliamentary procedure for his personal issues, and not for his constituency's issues. To cloud the issue, Mr Mitropoulos, slyly, asks if any other citizens are faced with similar predicaments, having fallen, as he says, victims of terrorism and extortion on the part of state checkers.
The mp, in his question, also wondered if there was a government plan to terrorize him through taxation so that he may take measures to protect himself and his family.
