The same mistake that Angelos Mitrotodis and Dimitris Kouklatzis made, was also what two Turkish soldiers did and were arrested in Evros.
According to an Alpha television report, the two soldiers were arrested on Sunday morning on Greek soil in Evros.
Sources of the Ministry of National Defense, said that the two Turkish soldiers lost their orientation and passed into Greek territory, stressing that their weapons did not even have ammunition.
The two soldiers were arrested and, following the formal procedure, returned to Turkey through the border pass at Kipoi.
This is a similar incident, apparently, to what played happened to lieutenant Mitretodis and sergeant Kouklatzis. The misadventure of the Turks lasted only nine hours, until the necessary procedures were finished and they returned home, while Kouklatzis and Mitretodis stayed in the Turkish prison for almost six months for their mistake.
According to Alpha, the Hellenic Armed Forces General Staff leadership did not want to retaliate and wished the incident to finish immediately.
