Russians arrested smuggling 2000 cigarette packs

Greek police arrested two Russians, a man, and a woman, at the Ioannis Kapodistrias Airport in Corfu after they were found to be carrying over 2,000 contraband cigarette packs in their suitcases and hand luggage.
The illicit cargo, a total of 2,121 cigarette packs, reportedly came from Russia. The accused have visited the Ionian island of Corfu on many occasions in the past during summer. The lost customs duties are estimated to amount to 8,825 euros. The cigarette packs were transferred to Corfu Customs where they will be destroyed, while the arrested will be brought before the Prosecutor of Corfu for questioning.
