Strategic dialogue between Greece and the US widens in scope

The dialogue between Greece and the US is intensifying and widening in scope, Digital Policy, Telecoms and Information Minister Nikos Pappas said on Tuesday, speaking at the 29th Greek Economy Conference, organized by the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce.
He went on to commend the "excellent work carried out during the Thessaloniki International Fair," where the United States was the honoured country and added that, for the first time, it was possible to feel the presence of a digital Greece.
Speaking on the panel of "Artificial Intelligence, rapid technological advances and economic transformation," Pappas said that a large number of jobs are expected to be lost abruptly as a result of the digital transformation currently under way in Greece. "We need to come up with policies that will guarantee the citizens a minimum income. We cannot rely on the economy to self-regulate,” Pappas said, and stressed the need for an intervention that will be aimed at protecting society.
