- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Once again, α group of approximately 20 people attacked the Police Operations Directorate on Chiou Street in the Kaisariani area of Athens with Molotov cocktails at 18:45 on Tuesday.
According to police sources, the firebombs exploded outside the building, causing no damage or injuries. The attackers fled the scene immediately after the incident.
Police unionists have decried the lack of personnel and means, noting that for Kaisariani and surrounding areas, home to tens of thousands of citizens, there is only one cruiser available for patrols. They also noted that the university campus, just 150 meters from the attack, serves as a staging ground, where assailants prepare unhikdered, under protetion of the academic asylum laws.
