Revealing Soros' foundation report on post Prespa Agreement Balkans
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
A recent report by the Open Society Foundation of international speculator and multi-millionaire George Soros is very revealing for the processes that led to the Prespa agreement and the "gifting" of the name of Macedonia by the government.
The report gives its own appreciation of how we reached the agreement and what developments it is launching.
The 28-page report titled "Northern Macedonia: What's Next?", compiled by four editors, talks about what the stakes are for the ruling party and what the advantages garnered were.
The report also proceeds to "forecasts" stating that the elections will be held next May and that a 5-member parliament will be formed by the elections (ND, SYRIZA, ATHENS, KINAL, KKE).
Regarding Skopje's accession to NATO, the report anticipates that it will take place in the summer and that the Greek government will bring Skopje's accession to parliament for ratification between February and March.
For ND, the report notes that its disagreement was pretentious, considering its attempt to connect the Novartis judicial prosedure and the scandalous acquisition of a company in the neighboring country by PPC to the government's efforts to ratify the agreement. The report feels that the main Opposition party is playing with the emotional aspect that this issue has for the Greeks.
It is interesting that the report that Greece is not aware of FYROM issues and that public opinion is informed by irrelevant and directed media that have gone bankrupt, but fortunately there are new, popular media arising, as well as the rising influence of social media.
One interesting point in the report is that while the date of publication is mentioned, January 14 refers to the confidence vote that SYRIZA won on 16 January as a fact already done!
