Halkidiki beach bar changes WiFi password to "MacedoniaisGreek"

n an inventive way, a businessman from Halkidiki decided to protest by replacing the code of the wireless network with the phrase: "MacedoniaisGreek".
"For a year, now, we asked the tourists where they came from and we they responded saying only "Macedonia". Not even North Macedonia. We racked our brains and said with my son that some things should be put in place, " said Christos Theodoridis, owner of the beach bar "Summer SunShine" in Nea Iraklia, Halkidiki, to ethnos.gr, adding that in the past years most of the visiting neighbors said they came from Skopje.
His move to react in this way and to send ... a message to Greece's neighbors has resulted in lost clientele from Skopje as they now prefer other beach bars. "But it does not matter at all. Nor did I regret it. I work more with Greek and Bulgarian clients who are also more generous."
According to Mr. Theodoridis his move to change the code and to put the phrase: "MacedoniaisGreek" caused reactions on the internet while many northern neighbors very often write unfavorable comments about the beach bar.
"All of them are asking for the wireless network code. When we tell them, those from Skopje froze and do not believe what they are hearing. But this is the reality and they must understand it," said Mr. Theodoridis, who has been active in the region for the last nine years.
