Maria Sakkari advances to second round of Wimbledon

Maria Sakkari prevailed over her American opponent Bernarda Pera in 2 sets (7-4, 6-3) In her opening match for the Wimbledon tournament.
The match lasted for 1 hour and 29 minutes and Maria utilised her high first serve (76%) rate and took advantage of her opponent’s many unforced errors to cruise to a comfortable victory.
Sakkari will face Czech Radka Buzkova in the second round.
