President Pavlopoulos on 'OXI' Day: Turkey's illegal actions will not be tolerated

Neighbouring Turkey must understand that Greeks will stand with unity, defending their national rights and interests and will impose respect for European and international legality, he said.
"The 'No' of October 28, the 'No' of the Greeks, was a supreme act of resistance against fascism in recent history and an equally supreme stand in defence of peace, democracy and humanity," Pavlopoulos stated after the conclusion of the grand military parade in Thessaloniki.
"We, the Greeks, broadcast this same 'No' today, from here in Thessaloniki, from our Macedonia, against all those that seek to strike at the universal human ideals. This 'No' is especially directed to neighbouring Turkey, which does not hesitate to brutally violate international legality in the Middle East," the president stressed.
Turkey's illegality will not be tolerated, the president noted, adding: "Let Turkey understand that the Greeks, as a people and a nation, will defend on terms of unbreakable unity, our national issues and our national rights and will impose the respect of international and European legality, on which these rights are based."
The president also had the opportunity to communicate with F-16 fighter jet pilot Lieutenant Colonel Dimitris Volakakis as he was flying overhead, giving an impressive demonstration of precision flying and manouevres during the parade, flying above the onlookers.
