Efforts are under way by Indian rescue teams to contain a fire that broke out in the early hours of the morning on a Greek-flagged ship while sailing in the Arabian Sea.
This is the cargo ship "Faneromeni", which was headed, empty of cargo, from the United Arab Emirates to North Africa and has a crew of 18 people, five of whom are Greeks. According to the first information from the Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy, the fire broke out at around 4:00 Greek time and so far there is no information on injuries or the extent of the damage.
More recent information from the Hellenic Coast Guard noted that one Greek sailor has lost his life fighting the fire.
