Greek national football team 12th globally

The Greek men's national football team ranks 12th, according to the recent World Ranking published by the International Federation of Assoociation Football ( FIFA ).
According to the latest world rankings published for February 2014, the national teams in the first three places remain same, with Spain staying on top for the seventh consecutive year, followed by Germany in second place and Argentina in third place.
The FIFA World Ranking was introduced in December 1992 and initially held the scoreboard for the teams of the countries Argentina, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands. These countries, having scored the most victories, hold the top ranking positions today, with Brazil having spent the longest time in first.
Greeks have occupied a place in the top 20 of the FIFA World Rankings for all but four months since the 2004 triumph, and reached a high of eighth from April to June 2008, as well as in October 2011
