Hatzidakis in Luxembourg for Eurogroup and ECOFIN meetings

National Economy and Finance Minister Kostis Hatzidakis is going to Luxembourg on Thursday, in order to participate in the Eurogroup and ECOFIN meetings.
The Eurogroup meeting will be held on Thursday. The agenda includes a discussion on the progress of the eurozone economy, the role of the euro as an international currency and the implementation of industrial policy, as a means of strengthening competitiveness.
At the ECOFIN meeting on Friday, the Council will be asked to reach a political agreement on the institutionalization of a value added tax (VAT) package in the digital age. The implementation path of the Recovery and Resilience Facility and the fiscal impact of the war in Ukraine will also be discussed, while the European Commission will present the spring package of the European Semester 2024.
During his stay in Luxembourg, the Greek minister will also participate in the meeting of the board of the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) on 20/6, as well as the meeting of the board of the European Investment Bank (EIB) on 21/6.
