Featured "We are not afraid of you": Rally outside the "Ippokrateio" hospital of Thessaloniki for the death of Vagia Nestora - Candles were lit in her memory

A rally was held outside the “Ippokratio” Hospital in Thessaloniki by cadres and friends of the New Democracy party, on the occasion of the death of Aphrodite Nestora’s mother.

The participants wore white T-shirts with the slogan “we are not afraid of you” and sending a message against terrorism, following the death of Aphrodite Nestora’s mother.

New Democracy expressed its deep sorrow for her loss, calling on members and friends to honor her memory and unite against terrorism.

Aphrodite Nestora was transferred to the Burns Unit of Papanikolaou Hospital, as she suffered extensive first and second degree burns to her arms and legs.

Her father, Panagiotis Nestoras, is hospitalized at the Ippokrateio Pulmonary Clinic with respiratory problems and is expected to be discharged on Friday.

The secretary of the Political Committee of New Democracy, Konstantinos Kyranakis, was also present at the gathering.

The protest was attended by Margaritis Schinas, MPs Theodoros Karaoglou, Dimitris Kouvelas, Dimitris Vartzopoulos, MP for Heraklion Maximos Senetakis, MP for Pieria Spyros Koulkoudinas, the coordinator of the Prime Minister's Office in Thessaloniki Yiannis Papageorgiou, the coordinator of the Prime Minister's Office in Northern Greece Elena Sokou, the president of KEDE Lazaros Kyrizoglou, the former prefect Panagiotis Psomiadis, executives and members of ND and party youth org ONNED, etc.

Kyranakis: We form a human chain and embrace Aphrodite's family

"You will not see us burning the city, vandalizing, or destroying. All you will see from us is a human chain embracing the family of Aphrodite Nestora. She is embracing here in front of the Hippocratic Hospital, the place where a symbol for our party, Vagia Nestora, breathed her last. Nor will we incite violence. And we ask the friends of ND that no one incite violence, neither on the keyboard, nor in cafes, nor in groups. This is our big difference. Eternal is her memory,” declared ND Secretary Konstantinos Kyranakis during the rally.

For his part, the president of ONNED, Orfeas Georgiou, said: "We are here for two reasons: on the one hand, to express our condolences to Aphrodite Nestora, a ND member, a fighter, who saw her mother murdered before her eyes by anarchists, by far-leftists, by all those who are rampaging and trying to create obstacles in Greece. Against all of them, the ND government has made a significant effort in recent years, especially here in Thessaloniki where there is no occupation at any university. And we believe that what happened yesterday was retaliation for all of this government effort. We believe that zero tolerance should cease to be a slogan in mock-ups on social media and become a practice by the state and the ND government."
