Top Greek director does video clip
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Things are really picking up for acclaimed Greek director George Lanthimos this year. After his Oscar nomination for foreign language film with “Dogtooth” a few years ago, he has been shooting his first English-speaking feature film debut “The Lobster” starring international performers Colin Farrell and Rachel Weisz.
If that wasn't enough, Lanthimos has just taken a stab in the music video arena, directing his first video-clip. It is a short film for the English language song “Baby Asteroid”, by Greek artist Leon (Timoleon Veremis), the first single from his second album, “Global”.
It is a clip characteristic of Lanthimos' style, with static shots of semi-provocative images, indicative of a director quite familiar with the art of short film. The video-clip was picked up by British music magazine “Q”'s website and presented as “Track of the week” on the day it was released.
Lanthimos' feature film “Lobster” will be released next year.
