Fire at Loutraki
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Less than 24 hours after the forest fire at Keratea and while May is still at its beginning, a second large fire broke out this afternoon at Loutraki.
Twenty four firefighters with 12 vehicles and two water bombers have been tackling the fire since it broke out. So far the fire has consumed areas with low vegetation. High winds are hampering fire fighters' efforts to place the fire under control.
Despite yesterday's initial first shock with the fire at Keratea, authorities still seem unprepared to deal with unfolding events, and a tender to rent aerial means for fire fighting efforts is still being delayed.
