Most Powerful Laser Developed on Crete
On Crete, a group of scientists have developed the most forceful atom laser in the world, that is seven times more powerful than any other established mechanism.
On March 28, the New Journal of Physics published the "ultra-bright-atom-laser" submission, as reported by ANA. The expert team works at the Institute of Electronic Structure and Laser at the Foundation for Research and Technology (FORTH).
German physicist Wolf von Klitzing leads the team. Scientists include Vasiliki Bolpasi, Nikos Efremidis, Pavlos Condylis, Michael Morrissey, Mark Baker and Daniel Sahagun. The scholar's technique uses matter beams rather than light beams used by traditional optical lasers. The laser is still in its preliminary stages.
