Threats against top judicial officials

The three rounds, possibly 7.62x39 mm for an AK-47 (Kalashnikov), were in an envelope the sender of which was marked as Alepoudelis, the original name of Greek nobel-prize winning poet Odysseas Elytis, who also hailed from Mytilene, as does Ms Koutzamani, and also justice minister Haralambos Athanasiou.

A handwritten note written in ancient Greek characters bears the message “whoever took part in this mess, minister, prosecutor, inquisitor has fifteen days to make restitution.”

The note also threatens “Pre-trial detentions and releases within 20 months otherwise these things [the bullets] will come silently from afar.”

Police are looking into the origins of the envelope, and all the contents have been taken to the forensics lab for content, fingerprint, and DNA testing.

The bullets were found by the scanner that scans correspondence.
