6.4 Earthquake Shakes Greece
Today, Greece was hit by a 6.4 magnitude earthquake off the northern coast, and was felt by Bulgaria and Turkey.
No deaths or severe damage has been reported, as a result of the quake. The U.S. Geological Survey confirmed that the earthquake's epicenter was approximately 77 kilometers south-southwest of Alexandroupolis, between Lemnos and Samothrace, and held a depth of 10 kilometers.
Earthquakes often strike Greece and its neighboring nations. A 1999 earthquake rattled the country and caused 143 deaths. It was the largest upheavel Greece has felt in recent times.
