Serres Animal Abuser Imprisoned
An animal abuser was brought to justice and charged with an 8-month suspended prison term, along with a 30,000 euro fine after killing a stray dog, according to reports.
The 69-year-old male beat the animal to death in the northeastern region of Charpopo, Serres. As reported by Kathimerini, the man was arrested by police officers after they observed him beating the dog.
Serres Animal Rights Association Director Zoe Kontou referred to the sentencing as "rather lenient" to AMNA news portal.
