Golden Dawn MP released
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Artemis Mattheopoulos was released by decree of the Board of Appeals under a bail of € 50,000 and a ban on leaving the country.
Almost a month after his pre-trial detention for the offenses of instituting and managing a criminal organization, the Golden Dawn MP will be released from Korydallos prison. In his deposition before investigating magistrates Klapa and Dimitropoulou stolen in late June, Mr. Mattheopoulos had denied the charges ascribing them to political persecution.
The investigating judge and the prosecutor detained him on the grounds that if he was released he would continue his criminal activity, since apart from being an MP he was also a member of the Political Council of Golden Dawn, and close of the party leadership and in every way encouraged and incited criminal activity.
