Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has expressed his thanks to Greece and two other Mediterranean countries for their assistance in evacuating Chinese citizens from Libya.
Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has written to Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, Maltese Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and Tunisian Prime Minister Mehdi Jomaa, expressing thanks to their respective governments for their recent assistance in helping Chinese nationals evacuate Libya.
A number of Chinese nationals were evacuated to Malta by air and sea, although many more, based in Benghazi, went to Greece. Two Greek ships were sent to Libya last week to evacuate Greek nationals and other international citizens (businessmen, employees and embassy staff) from Tripoli where hostilities were taking place.
