Miltiadis Tentoglou won his second straight Olympic gold medal in the long jump at the 2024 Paris Games.
His impressive 8.48-meter jump secured Greece's first gold and seventh medal overall in Paris.
Tentoglou joins an elite group of Greek athletes, including Pyrros Dimas and Kakhi Kakhiashvili, as only the third Greek athlete to win at least two Olympic gold medals.
He is the second athlete in Olympic history, after Carl Lewis, to achieve consecutive gold medals in the long jump.
The athlete’s win marks Greece's first gold medal in Paris and its seventh overall at the Games.
The competition was fierce, with early leaders like Italy's Mattia Furlani setting a high bar with an 8.34-meter jump.
With this victory, Tentoglou solidifies his legacy as one of Greece's greatest athletes, inspiring future generations and showcasing the nation's prowess in track and field.
His unparalleled achievement is a testament to his dedication, skill, and unwavering determination to excel on the global stage.
