The major travel magazine publishes its lists of the world's best every year and once again Greece figures in many categories.

Europe's top island destinations are ideal for travelers looking for "more than just a trip to the beach," Travel + Leisure reports.

Most of this year's winners are located in sunny corners of the Mediterranean, where there are impressive beaches, but also rich history, wine tasting and an idyllic atmosphere.

"All five of them, including this year's winner, are located in Greece, a country with thousands of islands scattered across the Aegean and Ionian Seas," the magazine reports.

In first place is Paros, the beautiful island of the Cyclades.

The Aegean island has been on the list of European islands every year since this category was introduced in the “World’s Best Awards”. This year, it takes the top spot for the first time since 2020. The magazine’s readers named Paros not only their favorite island in Europe, but also the best in the world.

Survey participants praised the freshness of the seafood, the shopping options, the natural beauty and the warm hospitality of the locals. But what really made the difference was the incredible variety of activities and experiences.

From traditional villages and hiking trails to tranquil beaches, cultural events and a quality nightlife, Paros offers a balance between relaxation and activity.

Readers praised the freshness of the seafood, the variety of dining and shopping options, and the sincere hospitality of the locals. The authentic Cycladic experience without the pressure of overtourism makes Paros stand out.
