Madonna's three day stay on Holy Patmos
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Madonna seems to choose destinations with special religious symbolism during her stay in Greece, as after Meteora she also visited Patmos.
Before Patmos, the "queen of pop" celebrated her birthday in Corfu with friends and family members. She accompanied her social media posts with a message of gratitude.
Her stay on the Island of the Apocalypse lasted three days, with the world-famous music star being particularly impressed by what she saw and experienced.
Madonna's presence undoubtedly acts as a huge advertisement for the island, something that the island's mayor, Nikitas Tsampalakis, also pointed out.
“Madonna’s presence in Patmos, as well as many other international personalities who choose the island, constitutes a huge and essentially free international promotion,” he said, speaking to the Athenian-Macedonian News Agency.
As he explains, this promotion goes beyond the limits of a simple visit, as “Patmos travels through the images and experiences of these people all over the world.”
Madonna’s trip in three helicopters
According to a report by Real Voice News, Madonna arrived in Patmos by helicopter on Monday, August 17, dressed in white and wearing a hat. In fact, two other helicopters transported her entourage, one and the second, their luggage, which was numerous.
At the Patmos heliport, she was welcomed by the Deputy Mayor for Tourism, Education and Civil Protection, Nikos Antonopoulos, on behalf of the Mayor of Patmos Nikitas Tsampalakis, who was absent due to commitments.
Madonna chose to stay in a luxurious accommodation in Skala of Patmos, while according to the report she also visited the Cave of the Apocalypse and the Holy Monastery.
The "Queen of Pop" received souvenirs upon leaving Patmos, promising to place them in a prominent place, while assuring that she would soon return to the island. In fact, in the coming days she is expected to publish photographic material from her vacation in Patmos.
Corfu and her birthday
Before moving to Patmos, she celebrated her birthday in Corfu. The famous star wrote the following comment with which she accompanied her post in which she published photos where she was with good friends and family members: "It's my birthday! Eat, pray, love, drink, dance, break dishes, feed cats!! Thank you God!".
