VP Biden Plans to Visit Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades at Mt. Sinai Hospital
United States Vice President Joe Biden plans to visit Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades today at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan.
Anastasiades has been at the Hospital since last week, when he had open heart surgery. Biden spoke to Anastasiades prior to his operation, and has been in communications with the Cypriot First Lady Andri Anastasiades, regarding her husband's recovery.
The Cypriot President is healing well and on Thursday he is predicted to be transferred from the cardiology unit. His doctors believe he will be admitted from the hospital on Monday, according to Parikiaki.
President Anastasiades was operated on by leading mitral valve heart surgeon Dr. David Adams, who reigns as Mount Sinai's head Cardiac Surgeon. Dr. Adams corrected the President's leaking tricuspid and mitral valves, as a result of a degenerative valve ailment.
The American Vice President is actively involved in Cyprus and has worked closely with President Anastasiades. Biden has joked that his friends call him "Bidenopoulos".
