Greek Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Reviews Cyprus Issue

Gerontopoulos held meetings with the Archbishop of the Church of Cyprus Chrysostomos II and House President Yiannakis Omirou, and offered comments after the discussions.

The Greek Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs reconfirmed that the complete harmonized stance between Nicosia and Athens on a Cyprus solution, is a crucial factor regarding current UN approved discussions by the two territories.

Gerontopoulos voiced that a decision backed by the EU Acquis Communautaire and UN resolutions should be administered as soon as possible.  The Greek Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs also met with Archbishop Chrysostomos II at the Holy Archbishopric, where the two premiers reviewed economic and national issues, along with the Cypriot divide.
