Thursday Brings Next UN Authorized Cyprus Discussions
Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades and Turkish-Cypriot leader Dervis Eroglu are expected to conduct their next meeting on Thursday, October 9th, according to CNA.
The following day, Greek-Cypriot negotiator Andreas Mavroyiannis is set to meet with his Turkish-Cypriot counterpart, Kudret Ozersay. The ongoing UN authorized discussions between the two territories of Cyprus began in February, with the goal of reunification.
UN Secretary General's Special Adviser on Cyprus Espen Barth Eide has recently claimed that "the preparatory phase is done" concerning the discussions, and that "the structured negotiations are really beginning now", according to Parikiaki.
