Thessaloniki Mayor Boutaris Arrives in Melbourne On Friday
Thessaloniki's Mayor Yiannis Boutaris is scheduled to arrive on November 21st in Melbourne, however Macedonia and Thrace Minister Giorgos Orfanos has cancelled his trip for unknown reasons.
A Thessaloniki Municipality delegation will travel to Melbourne with Mayor Boutaris. The Greek officials will hold lectures and meetings to promote Thessaloniki as a top travel location to the Australian community.
The Thessaloniki Mayor also plans to tour the Jewish Holocaust Museum. The Australian visit has been set up to further strengthen ties between the "sister cities" of Melbourne and Thessaloniki.
