Cyprus Contemplates Resort Casino
In Cyprus, The Parliamentary Committees on Financial and Budgetary Affairs and Trade and Industry, are examining a bill that aims to regulate the creation of a casino on the island.
Thirteen parties are interested in founding a casino type resort on Cyprus, as confirmed by government delegates today. The project is estimated at 500 million euros and aims to bring another 500,000 to 1 million more tourists to the nation. Interested parties and officials anticipate that the bill will be ratified by the plenary by January's end, before prospective investors will compete for its establishment.
However, Undersecretary to the President Constantinos Petrides cautioned against multiple bill amendments, "If certain provisions which were drafted painstakingly and based on expertise are amended to a great extent, it is likely that the project will not be able to be realised," according to Parikiaki.
