European Commission VP Makes Positive Cypriot Statements
European Commission Vice President Jyrki Katainen stated that Cyprus has dealt with its financial issues very well, during his time in Nicosia.
Katainen who is responsible for EC jobs, investment, growth, and competitiveness, was in the nation's capital during an Investment Plan for Europe tour.
During his Cypriot travels, the EC VP commented, "Giving you the impression from outside, your country has managed to deal with the crisis very well and this has helped you receive confidence," as reported by Parikiaki. Katainen stated that the country could prosper from pillars of the Investment Plan for Europe, regarding tourism and energy on the island.
European Commission Vice President Jyrki Katainen also met with the Republic of Cyprus President of the House of Representatives Yiannakis Omirou, however no statements were offered after the meeting's end.
