Greek-Cypriot & Turkish-Cypriot Leaders Hold Productive Meeting
Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades and Turkish-Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci recently held beneficial meetings, that were coined as "constructive" by the Greek-Cypriot government.
Greek-Cypriot Government Spokesman Nicos Christodoulides tweeted, "First meeting between Anastasiades and Akinci. Constructive discussion in a positive climate." Akinci stated that discussions with his Greek-Cypriot counterpart were a "good beginning" and "positive," as reported by Parikiaki.
After concluding their dialogue, Akinci posted on twitter, "Tonight, we came together with Mr. Anastasiades, it was a positive meeting, it was a good beginning."
The two leaders conducted their meeting while having dinner last night, which was hosted by UN Secretary General's Special Adviser on Cyprus Espen Barth Eide. After the meeting's end, Eide confirmed that UN-approved peace discussions between both territories of Cyprus will restart on May 15th.
