Cyprus Accepts Cyprus Airways Logo & Trademark Purchasers’ EOI
The Republic of Cyprus has called for expressions of interest (EOI), concerning the logo and trademark of Cyprus Airways.
In January, the Cypriot airline was closed down after it was revealed that the company was illegally granted state funding. July 24th marks the deadline to offer expressions of interest for the national air carrier's trademark and logo. The European Commission instructed Cyprus Airways to pay back over 65 million euros that was owed, after accepting illicit state assistance.
In a statement, the Privatization Commissioner's office described, "The purpose of this EOI process is to determine interest of prospective parties for the exclusive license to use/exploit the Logos and Trademarks for the operation of a flights schedule out of the Republic of Cyprus," according to Parikiaki.
