Cypriot President & German Chancellor Converse About Greece
Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades spoke with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, concerning the economic turmoil in Greece.
The conversation centered around Cyprus' Greek efforts, as confirmed by Cypriot Government Spokesman Nikos Christodoulides and reported by Parikiaki. Christodoulides tweeted, "The aim is to reach agreement over a programme."
Greece's financial alteration program ceases at midnight, when the country has to repay its €1.5 debt to the International Monetary Fund. The Hellenic government closed is banks until July 6th, as the ECB continues to keep its emergency financial assistance to Greek banking institutions unaltered.
