Cypriot Earthquake Brings Series of Aftershocks
An earthquake that shook Cyprus yesterday has resulted in aftershocks.
The 4.3 magnitude quake hit Limassol last night at 7:29 p.m. It occurred in the mountainous area, just 18 kilometers north west of the city, and held a 15 kilometer depth.
It has had many small tremors and 10 aftershocks that calculated between two to three on the Richter scale, according to the geological analysis department on the island.
The largest aftershock occurred four minutes after the initial quake and equalled 2.9. The earthquake was felt in both Limassol and Larnaca.
