The threatening email
Among other things, it is noted that "we will make you run with swords raised high. We claim your life because the rule of Allah is our decree. Harsh is the wind that whispers in your ear about the death that awaits you. We will sow death on your shores as our brothers did in Sri Lanka (...) We will conquer every inch of European land.”
The Cyprus Police have set up a crisis management center and have launched investigations into the message. As a precaution, schools have been evacuated so that searches can be carried out by bomb squads and sniffer dogs.
It is believed that the threat is not real but is intended to cause disruption. Similar messages have been sent in the past and investigations have found that they were sent from Russia.
