Four Greek-owned ships hit in Persian Gulf and Black Sea, sailors safe

At the same time, two more incidents that are under investigation are reported in the Black Sea. The Greek-owned ship “NISOS IOS” with the Maltese flag was targeted, which suffered material damage to its bridge. According to the same report, the seven Greek sailors who are part of the crew are in good health, while the ship is moving independently towards the Bosphorus.

Finally, the Greek-owned tanker “Asia” with the Liberian flag was also hit in Novorossiysk, causing material damage, but without any reported danger to human lives, as there were no Greek sailors on board the ship.

The Cavos Maleas was hit by at least one missile
The tanker “Cavos Maleas” was reportedly hit by at least one missile from the Iranian navy while it was crossing the Strait of Hormuz.

The attack reportedly occurred because the tanker did not have a permit to pass through from the Iranian authorities. The missile reportedly caused a fire in the engine room, which engulfed the ship in flames and left it uncontrollable. The crew safely abandoned the vessel, while a tug was later dispatched.

So far, no casualties or significant oil spill have been reported, although the fire was still raging when the first reports were released.
