Cypriot Unemployment Rate Rising
Eurostat reported today that Cyprus' March unemployment rate rose to 17.4%, compared to 16.8% in February.
Currently 78,000 Greek Cypriots remain unemployed. The statistics agency confirmed that the seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate in March was 11.8%, which has remained stable since 2013's end. This figure is 12.0% less, than the same time period last year.
The unemployment rate was 16.4% regarding women, and 18.4% concerning men. It held a 43.2% rate for workers 25 years-old and under. In comparison to last year, Cyprus experienced the highest rise in unemployment, from 14.8% to 17.4%.
