Parthenon Marbles Return Campaign Launched

UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Marianna V. Vardinoyiannis has established a new campaign to return the Parthenon Marbles back to Greece.

Efforts are being supported by the Melina Mercouri Foundation and the Elpida Association, in the nation's quest to regain what is rightfully theirs. The new attempt is called: "Return (the Marbles), Restore (Parthenon), Restart (History)".  Its goal is to increase international awareness to the Parthenon Marbles that are displayed at London's British Museum.

The campaign is set to premier tomorrow at the Acropolis Museum during an international Parthenon conference, prior to a nationwide survey being conducted, regarding the meaning behind the marble's return to their native land. UNESCO has previously penned a letter to the government of Britain, requesting the return of the Parthenon Marbles to Greece.
