USA & Cyprus Conduct Search & Rescue Exercise
"CYPUSA – 01/14" was administered yesterday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 near the Cypriot coast, by SAR Units and Personnel from the United States and the Republic of Cyprus, according to reports.
The Multinational Search and Rescue (SAR) daytime mission was to plan, prepare and executive a collaborative effort, to advance Rescue Units and personal capacities.
According to Parikiaki, a Cyprus Defense Ministry press release confirmed that SAR Helicopters and Rescue Naval Units participated in the act, while the Joint Rescue Coordination Center in Larnanca oversaw its operations and worked together with the United States Navy's 6th Fleet/Command Task Force-65.
This marks the second time in this capacity, that the two nations have worked together this year; "NEMESIS-2014" was conducted on April 10th.
