Cate Blanchett in Messinia for her new film - The areas where the filming will take place
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos

Cate Blanchett will be in Messinia for a few days for the needs of her new film "Sweetsick".
According to public broadcasster ERT, the Oscar-winning actress will get a taste of the western part of the Messinian Gulf and specifically in Messinian Mani.
Filming in Kardamyli, Trachila, Petrovouni
Filming will take place from November 4 to 9, with scenes in Kardamyli, Trachila, Petrovouni and along the provincial road of Agios Dimitrios-Trachila, where short-term traffic regulations have been planned.
The sea shots will also be impressive, with three boats participating in the action, while the imposing landscape of Mani will "dress" the finale of the film - a scene of purification and return to the roots.
The production has already set up bases at the Kardamyli Kindergarten and the Trachila Cultural Center, while preparations continue at an intensive pace.
Crew parking spots have been designated on the Kardamyli beach area, as well as along the road to Old Kardamyli, with full safety and environmental protection measures.
Photos leaked on social media
Photos from the production preparations have already been released on Instagram, showing crews setting up equipment and lighting systems on the beach of Kardamyli and in Trachila.
“Sweetsick” is a story of return and reconciliation, culminating in the colors and light of Mani.
And with the presence of Cate Blanchett, Messinia is preparing to once again become the epicenter of international film interest, as it had been a few months earlier with the filming of Christopher Nolan's "Odyssey".
