Pianist Aglaia Koras Offers Washington, D.C. Concert
Washington, D.C.'s Greek Embassy has organized a piano concert by renowned pianist Aglaia Koras.
The performance will take place Wednesday, June 18th, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Center for Hellenic Studies-Harvard University in D.C. She will play compositions by Scarlatti, Mozart, Chopin, Schubert, Bartok, Debussy, Rachmaninoff, Villa Lobos and Hadzidakis, Skalkottas, and Theodorakis.
The award winning pianist debuted at 11-years-old with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra. She was mentored by pianist Gina Bachauer, and later studied under the leading Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, under a full scholarship. Koras who resides in Bethesda, MD has performance in nine nations and has held many concerts at Carnegie Hall.
