MP Requests Penalties for Dismissers of Asia Minor Greek Genocide

Correctly the antiracist bill provides for stringent penal treatment for Holocaust deniers. However, the same should apply for deniers of the genocide of the Pontic Greeks and the Greeks of Asia Minor.
I expect the Minister of Justice to fulfill his commitments regarding this. I contacted Mr. Athanasiou and assured me that these commitments will be met.
Within the Greek Parliament there are members who took greater responsibility than they were allocated to remove the country from the nightmare of bankruptcy. I feel and they feel the same sense of responsibility for the protection of historical memory.
If some dream of rewriting history, they are sure to find us facing them. It is a debt of honor and responsibility, to have a clear reference in the bill, to the genocide of the Pontian Greeks, the Greeks of Asia Minor, the Armenians, but also the penal treatment of the deniers."
