Hospital Unionist Asks for Bribe and Goes to Jail

A public health system unionist was arrested for asking for 50,000 euros to put an end to a strike.
The unionist was caught in a sting operation, at Sotiria hospital in Athens when he was handed 50,000 euros in pre-marked bills.
According to the hospital director, the suspect demanded the money for other persons. Ms Karra informed authorities in the health ministry and also called police that set up the sting operation.
This is the first instance of a unionist being actually caught being caught in such a case involving bribery and extortion.
